Prospero…the all controlling!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

When first reading this play you think that Prospero is all out for revenge. He controls all the characters around him and seems very selfish. The last act though, I almost had a second thought about his motives. It almost seemed like he just let go all of his power. He even says he will leave to conteplate his own end. The very end of the act though proves that he still holds or wants to hold the power because he tells the audience the only way to free themselves of their own crimes, is that they have to clap for him.
